"We had a major problem with a solid black Audi A4, in the shade and away from bright light the car looked great but it was a different story in direct sunlight, swirls and holograms covered the paintwork. "My blue velvet Rolls Royce Phantom had been valeted by a company using dirty sponges and cloths resulting in scratches and swirl marks covering the entire paintwork, some seemed so deep that I thought the car may need to be resprayed. I contacted my local Rolls Royce service centre in Ascot to ask their advice, the Service Manager Kevin Whitaker kindly put me in touch with their Detailer, Bradley at Auto-Detail. Bradley came to my offices in his fully equipped detailing van to take an indepth look at the damage and talked me through the 'paint correction process', at the end he gave his professional opinion that the paintwork was repairable, the car was subsequently booked in through Kevin at Rolls Royce. "I recently acquired this car in a somewhat unloved condition. The rare VW Vento VR6 had been stood for 6 months on a farm, purchased by a friend of mine for the engine and very rare interior. Had my friend seen the results that Brad at Auto-Detail has achieved in just 2 days, he may not have been so quick to sell it to me. To be honest, the paintwork was so bad I thought I would need to have the whole car resprayed. The paint lacquer had faded badly on the top surfaces, and significant damage from bird droppings was evident all over the car. Moreover, there were significant swirl marks from poor washing technique and the dreaded mechanical car washes. To say Auto-Detail worked a miracle would be a massive understatement. Labouring solidly for more than 20 hours over 2 days he transformed the paintwork on the car to a finish that exceeds even the best professional respray, and at a fraction of the cost. The lustre and depth to the paintwork is incredible. After correcting the paintwork we applied Zymol HD Cleanse, and Zymol Carbon wax my own preferred choice of wax protection. It is very difficult to convey the difference he has made to the car in pictures alone. All I can say is that everyone has commented on the mirror finish and how sharp the car looks. "A letter to the Editor of BMW CAR Magazine, printed in May 2007 issue. Sirs I have just read the James Lance letter you published re protecting his new M coupe paintwork. I have just taken delivery of my new Z4 3.0si Sport Coupe in Black Sapphire metallic paint. I also was advised by the dealer to have a paint work protection system applied, but having had SEVERE problems in the past with an application of Diamond-Brite on a brand new Aston Martin DB7 I bought in 2002 declined their offer! Last week a young man called Brad Stevens who trades under the name of Auto-Detail (www.auto-detail.co.uk) did the most professional and amazing polish/protection/laquer job on the car (including the Alloys) I have ever seen. Not only has he made the metallic flakes stand out in the paint giving enormous depth to the finish, but the completed application is like "glass" beading any water instantly it comes in contact with the car. I won't even attempt to describe the process but perhaps you could forward this e-mail to Mr Lance. I am sure if he wishes to contact Brad and dicuss the matter he will be given the sound advise and options that were given to me, resulting in an astonishing end result by a young man who is gaining a highly recommended reputation.
